I really look forward to taking part in National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November each year. CampNano in April and July is appealing, too! This provides me with 3 months in any given year, to really set a good writing goal and focus on progressing my novel writing. And this month’s CampNano has been no exception. It has been a very busy – but productive – month for me!
I’m pleased to say that over the course of this month I have been able to pen around 16000 words of the next Free Rein book (number 12) and finish it off.
My plan was to then focus on the Chemistry of Horses, but instead Free Rein #14 decided to take wings! I have now finished a second book in this horse series for Middle Grade readers.
I’m rapt! I still have a couple more days to continue writing and want to finish this CampNano strong, penning more to hit my 35,000 word goal for the month.
After that, as we move into May (can you believe 1/3 of the year is over already?), I will focus on book cover design for these 2 novels and editing them. I had hoped to finish 2 books this month, but only hoped. It’s a wonderful feeling to have started one in late March, finished this book in April and then to have completed the next in the series. Definitely not what I had planned, but I am not going to complain!
I hope your 2021 is travelling well, but if you haven’t hit your goals for this year, there is still plenty of time to take action. What horse book are you reading at the moment? Feel free to leave a comment, sharing your current read.
I have recently finished The New Girl (Brown River Stables) by Ella J. White and have started After Lucas (Stonegate #2) by Tudor Robins.
