My eldest child has a current fascination with the board game, Trouble. It is great to help her to learn to count and move forward spaces based on her counting. My middle child doesn’t quite have the attention span for the game. He will start and then grow bored if he doesn’t get a six to be able to move any of his pieces around the board.
And yet, recently we were playing and he kept getting six after six, after six. And through this time, my daughter and I were taking our turns, eagerly awaiting at least one six so that we could officially start the game!
I feel that life can be like this. Even this current COVID-19 situation can be like this. Many have lost their jobs and perhaps their capacity to continue to support themselves and their family. Bills cannot be paid and debt builds up.
And yet, those who are able to continue to work in some capacity – indeed those who can work remotely but still carry out their usual role are able to continue to bring in income and hopefully save. They are getting the sixes and in a time like this, will be pulling further and further ahead.
Can I put the suggestion out there that even if you’re housebound, in this age of technology, there is so much information available at your fingertips. You can further develop your skills and knowledge, even gain a qualification or two! Why not explore avenues to bring in other forms of income?
Although it may only be considered pocket money, I am excited each month when I receive notification of a ‘payout’ from Udemy, Amazon, TeachersPayTeachers or Lulu. These small avenues of income provide me with the hope that I can build this up over time and I am sure many others can too – they just need to utilise their skills and knowledge to develop digital products.
I studied wealth in the bible a few years back and from this, developed a 30 day devotional. It is on offer for free through Smashwords – why not download a copy? It explores the topic of wealth in God’s word and provides prayers and tasks to help establish a road to wealth. What have you got to lose?
