I love to write horse books. And I especially love throwing in some educational information about horses in my stories. So if you’re unaware, it may not come as a surprise to you that I’m an equine educator by trade. And when I’m not writing horse books or educating about horses at my part time job, I’m often creating educational horse resources of my own to sell online. I make these products available for sale digitally, on TeachersPayTeachers.
Many of the products that are available are aimed at teenagers who may be learning about horses in school or through a riding club. But since the start of COVID here in Australia – and some home schooling sessions – I got to creating some horse educational resources for younger learners.
My daughter was in her first year of school last year. She was sent home with many printouts to work on during her home schooling time. And they caused me to think about what horse related products I could create to teach young learners. So my latest products focus on foundational learning – letters of the alphabet, horse colours…
Free Horse Resources
Perhaps you’re curious to check things out? What I love about TeachersPayTeachers is anyone can set up an account, but their first product must be free. This gives people the chance to check out the quality of your products before they consider buying. What a great idea!
Why not head along and check out some of my free products?
- Points of the horse activity
- Points of the saddle and bridle activity
- Or any others through searching by price ascending
Stay tuned for more horse book news. The idea of Free Rein #15 is slowly developing. I already have the cover and title 🙂 And the general focus of the book has been established. When July arrives, I will be in full swing to write the novel, but for now it’s happening in small scenes.

I am a retired teacher who wrote two horse books: At Home on a Horse in the Woods, a memoir/testimonial about taking your dream seriously, and Braiding Horsehair Bracelets, A Beginners Guide for horse lovers interested in learning how to braid three bracelets from their beloved horse’s tail. I am trying to market both, not my favorite part of book writing! Can we help each other somehow?
